WHERE QUALITY MEETS COMPASSION

FEATURED IN THE GLOBE MIAMI COMMUNITY GUIDE

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Linda Gross and the Globe Miami Community Guide for featuring the High Desert Humane Society Furniture & Home Goods Store! Your support means so much to us, and we truly appreciate the effort you put into helping us share our mission with the wider community.

For those who may not know, the Furniture & Home Goods Store is one of the many ways we raise funds to support the animals in our care. Every piece of gently used furniture, décor, or household item that is donated to us not only finds a new home but also directly helps provide food, shelter, and medical care for homeless, abandoned, and rescued animals in our community. By shopping at or donating to our store, you are making a tangible difference in the lives of pets who are waiting for their second chance at love and family.

The Globe Miami Community Guide has been an incredible ally—not only to us but to so many organizations across the region—by helping spread the word about local causes and by lifting up the people and groups who are working hard to strengthen our community. We are proud to be a part of this network of caring individuals and deeply grateful for the platform you’ve given us to share the importance of donating and supporting humane work.

Together, with the support of community members like you, we can continue to grow our programs, rescue more animals, and keep making Globe-Miami a place where compassion and kindness thrive.

If you’d like to get involved, here are a few ways to help:

  • Donate gently used furniture, décor, or household items to our store.

  • Shop at the Furniture & Home Goods Store—every purchase goes directly to supporting the animals.

  • Spread the word by telling friends and neighbors about who we are and what we do.

  • Volunteer your time at the store or shelter—our work is only possible because of the caring hands of our community.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again to Linda Gross and the Globe Miami Community Guide for helping us highlight this important part of our mission.

Your continued support ensures that every wagging tail and purring friend in our care has a brighter tomorrow.

It's Another Adoption Success!

FEATURED IN THE GLOBE-MIAMI-TIMES NEWSPAPER

Originally named Gabriel, this one year old Shepherd/Malinois/Lab mix is now called Bear. He came to the High Desert Humane Society Dog Rescue at the end of April and was quickly adopted out. He's a big boy with huge paws and a massive tail ("clear the tables!") so there may be more growth!

Bear has a sunny disposition and he's very eager to please; he also understands simple commands and is extremely affectionate... hence, big, sloppy kisses! He's taken to his new family (and their existing dog, too-- they're now inseparable). This is why we rescue; the happiness is written on the faces of both Adoptor and Adoptee when a perfect match is made, a life is saved, a void is filled, and love wins.

A simple adoption process begins with your visit to see the dogs and cats; if you love animals but are unable to foster/adopt, you can help the HDHS by volunteering your time, services, or by making a donation!

Our rescue facility for dogs and cats is located in Globe at 700 W. Shelter Way (Hackney Rd, above cemetery). The phone number is (928) 200-3611.
